The Weekend Camino is a great option for all kinds of groups, for example, men's retreats, women's retreats, a whole-church retreat, student cohorts.
4-5 WALKS: Connect with God
In the weekend version, your group will do 1-2 of the walks per day, depending upon the schedule you choose.
Each audio-guided walk explores a Camino theme using a psalm, poem, scripture reflection, and prayer, plus a video blessing and a companion PDF journal for deeper reflection.
Arising directly from the Camino de Santiago in Spain, the themes are:
- Walk 1: Simplicity
- Walk 2: Presence
- Walk 3: Hospitality & Gratitude
- Walk 4: Perseverance
- Walk 5: A Way of Life
DEBRIEF GROUPS: Process the Experience
Gather into small groups (in whatever way makes sense for your context) after each walk to interpret what God showed you and discern what he is inviting you to do next.
GROUP EVENTS: Grow as a Community
Gather your entire group together online to connect around some of the gifts of communal life found along the Camino in Spain: meals, games, coffee breaks, deep discussion. We have plenty of ideas to share for possible Camino-themed events.
SOCIAL SHARING: Be Part of Something Bigger
Use your group's existing social media to share pictures, reflections, and words from God. You might consider gathering everyone into a special Facebook group just for this event.
The Digital Camino gives your group the flexibility to adapt the schedule and create additional content that meets its needs. This might include:
- Additional scripture engagement
- Group devotional or prayer time
- Call to faith & action
